For your firmInformation, not adviceWorks on any vendorDiscovery-grade record

Prove what your AI was when it acted.

Frontier AI systems are retrained, re-tuned, and replaced constantly — sometimes every few months. A brief your firm filed last year may have come from a system that no longer exists in the same form. If that work is challenged in discovery two years from now, can you show what produced it? TrustAI pins every AI-assisted output to the exact (model · policy-version · pipeline-hash · source-set) state that made it, chain-ordered and tamper-evident. The commit hash for a legal conclusion.

Why this is a different problem than “is the answer right?” Verifying an output today (does the citation exist, is the quote real) checks the work. Temporal defensibility checks the provenance: when a court, a client, or opposing counsel asks “what system produced this, and what was it then?”, you need a record that was sealed at the moment of the decision — not a reconstruction of a system that has since been rebuilt. Courts already sanction attorneys for unverified AI work product (see Mata v. Avianca, 678 F. Supp. 3d 443 (S.D.N.Y. 2023)); a sealed provenance record is how you answer for the tool, instead of hoping it still exists.

A worked attestation

Below is one matter’s temporal attestation. Each AI-assisted decision is pinned to the state that produced it; a decision made before pinning was enabled is shown as an honest gap, never hidden. This is a synthetic example so you can read the shape of the record.

State pinned, recipe sealed. This receipt proves the exact state that produced each output at the time it acted; it never exposes prompts, routing, or thresholds.

Gap: decision d_email_summary_0312 was produced before temporal pinning was enabled — no snapshot on record (shown, not hidden).

What it pins — and what it never exposes

Pinned (the court’s evidence)

  • The producing model & vendor identity
  • The governing policy version
  • The pipeline state, as a one-way hash
  • The source-set version & config hash
  • The output’s fingerprint & the time it was pinned

Sealed (the forge stays shut)

  • Prompts and system instructions
  • Routing, cascade, and orchestration logic
  • Thresholds, weights, and scoring
  • The policy’s text — only its version is pinned
  • Anything a competitor could reverse-engineer

The pipeline and source-set are recorded as cryptographic hashes: the record proves the state existed and detects any change, without revealing what the state contains. State pinned, recipe sealed — the same boundary as every TrustAI receipt.

Pin your firm’s decisions

Temporal attestation runs on TrustAI’s substrate-vendor surface — your agents anchor each decision’s state from your own infrastructure, and you hold a record that re-verifies independently. Available to firms as a design-partner pilot.

TrustAI is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Temporal attestation records what system state produced an output, when — a provenance record for your review and your counsel’s. It does not tell you whether the output is correct, whether an authority supports your argument, or what to do next. Those judgments belong to a licensed attorney. What TrustAI does, and never does →
